Rythm Ritje

graduation project

The problem

The ArenAPoort area in the South-East of Amsterdam houses three large event venues. On occasions when three events concur, more than 150,000 people commute to and from the area, with over half of the visitors travel by car. This results into a significant increase in emissions and also a lot of irritations for the visitors.

Final result

I came up with Rythm Ritje. With this product visitors park farther away from the venue and bike from the parking lot to the concert. This reduces the amount of time visitors spend in traffic. The route you take depends on where you're coming from, allowing you to travel most efficiently and avoid traffic.

Screens

The concept was there, but to make it complete I created an app prototype. In the app visitors can look forward to the concert, arrange all the needed things like getting a parking spot to reserving bikes. The fun and inspiration are the key for this to be succesful.

The app revolves around fun, inspiration and guidance. You do the needed steps, but with fun. Fun elements and jokes make this a fun app to use. From managing the parking ticket to preparing for the concert with music, this apps has it all.

Interactive prototype: a fun element: a video message

To make this product more unique, I wanted to add a touch of the artist. So I got a videomessage.

Product video

To show how the app and how it's used, I made a Dutch narrated video. The video shows the app screens.

Approach

In this project I had many ways of researching the problem. I interviewed people in front of venues, potential users, stakeholders and tested my product with them.

The elements and illustrations

Like any other project, I made also made all the elements and illustrations myself.
