redesign WieBetaaltWat

for receipt collecters to arrange and split costs

The problem

Daan, the human I designed this product for, is a lazy but social being. He likes having a diner with friends. He pays in advance, but we're Dutch, so we split costs. He wants to split, but forgets to do this.

Final result

In three weeks came to a redesign for the WieBetaaltWat app. This is an app where you can split bills. Daan is already familiar with this app and uses it already. To make it as simple as possible, I made him do two steps to get to his goal.

  1. Scan the receipt.
  2. Pick the groceries / items you want to add to the split.

Approach

I worked with the SUE Behavioural Design Canvas. This canvas is designed around finding the pains and gains that would drives the persons behaviour to the desired behaviour. Also the habits and anxieties that keep the person in their current behaviour are described on the canvas.

The canvas filled in.
